About the venue
Dock 11
The factory level of Dock 11 in Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg is a rehearsals room, teaching studio and dance stage in one. The stage programme has interdisciplinary supplements such as theatre, performance, literature, music, visual art, film and club art – however the main focal point of every performance is on purely dance elements. Together with its other premises in EDEN***** in Berlin-Pankow, Dock 11 has established itself as an important part of the Berlin dance scene. The unique combination of teaching, rehearsal and stage generates an exciting change of perspectives in both the artists and pupils, as well as among the audience. (source: visitberlin.de)
About the performance
E-rase M E-go
A three hour walk in live installation playing with the elements of text, voice, sound, dance, performance and sculptural objects. The central subject in this combination is the human body in its visuality, meaning its physique, in its temporality, meaning its vitality and mortality, and its medially, its communicative capacity. Performance artists Lisa Stertz and Sajan Mani, photographer Mortared K and butoh dancer Yoko Kaseki will share an invasion of parallel universes.
About the artists
Lisa Stertz // Morvarid K
Lisa Sterz directs attention to the human being on a bare, existential level. Her performances thus became places of encounter, rather than of exposition, to seek trust and to include her audiences instead of diving from it.
Morvarid K focuses on frontiers, the in-between, transparencies, daily absurdities, the poetry of women and society paradoxes. Looking or beauty where it is the least expected, adding humor to seriousness, she decomposes and recomposes the world through her photographic collages and mix media.
