Audience Talk following 'The scent of the Fog'

'The Scent of the Fog' speaks about love, an apparently easy but inscrutable theme. Two dancers coming from different backgrounds, join urban and contemporary dance, through orderly movement, a new style of dance and expressing created by the company. The Talk afterwards invites the audience to share their perception, ideas and questions.

Breakdance meets Contemporary Dance: Combining urban and contemporary dance through 'orderly movement', the two dancers created new movement patterns which is the common ground of their collaboration and their specific movement language. They work together in the frame of improvised performances and choreographed pieces, collaborating with different realities. Their collaboration is based in artistic research, in which dance has not only an aesthetic and performative aspect, but is an instrument to study oneself and facilitate growth. In the frame of the audience talk following the performance we can dive into work and research methods, share questions and get to know different perceptions from fellow audience members.

Über das Stück

The scent of the Fog

'The Scent of the Fog' is a show created by Elisa Spagone and Marian Codrut Cojocaru; two dancers belonging to different backgrounds, join urban and contemporary dance, through orderly movement, a new style of dance and expressing created by the company. It’s a show which speaks about love, an apparently easy but inscrutable theme. Two individuals will go on a journey through themselves and then maybe really find themselves, challenged by the game of life, a game that we all have to play albeit unaware. The fog is a symbol of passage, change and transformation, since it constantly changes according to its density. It represents the rise of the hero, who losing his/her points of reference, from chaos finds the way back to him/herself and to the other.

About the artists

Orderly Dance Company

Elisa Spagone and Marian Codrut Cojocaru have created the Orderly Dance Company in 2021. They start mixing their ways of dancing, contaminating each other in different way of creation. They create a new movement, the orderly dance movement, based on the principle of using the minimum effort for maximum intensity, all connected to emotion and inner message expression. They work as dancer together with impro performances and shows, collaborating with different realities, and meanwhile they share their research through workshops worldwide. Elisa Spagone works as dancer collaborating with different choreographers; the biggest collaboration she has with Les Transe Mutants dance Company with which she works as dancer and teacher for many years. Today she creates her own shows working in small and big event worldwide. Meanwhile she continues her work as dance teacher and dance therapist, joining contemporary and urban dance. Marian Codrut Cojocaru was born as a street dancer, practicing breakdance. After the meeting with the dancer and choreographer Elisa Spagone, he decides to embark on a research path in which dance has not only an aesthetic and performaning aspect, but is an instrument to study oneself and growt. He therefore works as a dancer and interpreter listening to the authentic and spontaneous movement that is born from external and internal stimulation. Now continuing the practice of breakdance, he works in large and small events around the world, together with his partner Elisa Spagone.
