PAF Special: Artist Talk to 'Why don't you/Make up your mind'

What "choice making patterns" do we have, how can we become conscious about them, and how can we change our perceptions by applying these questions on the moving body through dance and choreography? The themes can be discussed with Shai Faran after the show.

The project is aiming to be an ongoing, never ending work in progress - how does such a project develop? The audience is invited to discuss it after the show with Shai Faran.

The show is part of the Performing Arts Festival.
You can find information about the tickets (9/14€) on the festival's website

The participation to the post-performance talk is free. You can register under reservierung(at)theaterscoutings-berlin.de

About the Venue:

DOCK 11

The factory level of Dock 11 in Kastanienallee in Prenzlauer Berg is a rehearsals room, teaching studio and dance stage in one. The stage programme has interdisciplinary supplements such as theatre, performance, literature, music, visual art, film and club art – however the main focal point of every performance is on purely dance elements. Together with its other premises in EDEN***** in Berlin-Pankow, Dock 11 has established itself as an important part of the Berlin dance scene. The unique combination of teaching, rehearsal and stage generates an exciting change of perspectives in both the artists and pupils, as well as among the audience.  (source: visitberlin.de)

About the Piece:

Why don't you/Make up your mind

Why don't you/Make up your mind is a project that is aiming to be an ongoing, never ending work in progress. It’s a way for us to create the conditions that will allow us to keep the state of the working environment, and spend time where we find our interest and pleasure- in the process. During that process, we will expose our work in the state that it’s in at the moment, giving the audience the opportunity witness the transformation and the development of the work. The work deals with the topic of choice making- how do we make choices, in what way, which part of our brain operatesthem, how does our memory effect our choices, what common "choice making patterns" we all have, how does it affect our lives when we are more conscious about our choices, and, how can we change our way of seeing the world by applying these questions on the moving body through dance and choreography.
