About the Venue:
Ratibor Theatre
For nearly 40 years, there is the small backyard theatre in Kreuzberg. The roots of the Ratibor Theatre go back to 70's. The history of the Theatre and the people behind it, somehow is representative for the history of the City of Berlin itself: from the highly politicized 1970's, the apocalyptic Kreuzberg of the 1980's, the end of the Berlin Wall to the post reunification era and the reality of a vibrating urban metropolis, that is still defining itself - all of that can be found in the history of The Ratibor Theatre.Since 1997 the Berlin improv group „Die Gorillas“ perform their weekly shows at Ratibor Theater. After almost twenty yearsthis symbiosis evolved a story of success, that formed the Ratibor into an international institution for impro and "Die Gorillas"to one of the best Impro-Groups worldwide. Additionally the annual festival for international impro theater IMPRO is takingplace here, too.

About the artists:
Det Andre Teatret
The story began in 2008 when a small group from the Teater Liksom decided that the city needed a place that could supply more improvisational theatre. We eventually found Ivan Bjørndalsgate 9 in Oslo and by saving money, funds and loads of volunteer work, we got this little place up and running. We have created a theater we would like to visit ourselves - where one can watch theatre that's simple, unpretentious and new. We love theater that is made of the guys showing it - instead of cherished, famous and ancient texts in a new guise. We believe it is possible to present fresh and surprising performances for a wide audience. Much of what we do is fun, but also sad, charming and poetic. But most of all we believe in a theater in dialogue with its audience and made by people who love doing it. The Other theater is a small theater with a big heart. Theatre has to be popcorn, party and people!
